Let’s Talk About the Skin

The skin, the body's largest organ, acts as the outer covering and protects against germs and bacteria. It is composed of proteins, fats, and minerals and consists of three layers: the epidermis, dermis, and hypodermics. The epidermis is the surface layer, shedding and producing new cells. Keratin helps with skin rigidity. As we age, collagen and elastin production decrease, affecting skin resilience and reducing wrinkles. The dermis contains pain and touch receptors.
